It's Saturday, get your crafting on

crafting saturday trends update

It's Saturday and time to get your crafting on.

Here is our weekly round up of trending on the web.

Make yourself or someone you care for a lovely little pouch with SewKateSew's free buy + diy nail polish pouch. It's sparkly. We like sparkly.

Easter is early this year and John Lewis have some great suggestions but what struck us was the colours that they are using - all pale lemons and pastel greens.

Ooohhh arhhhh me hearties. We love pirates. We are once again great aunt and uncle here at EC HQ so we are looking at pirate fabric to make a play mat. We wanted to make a quilt but apparently quilts are not good for very little babies so we are making the patchwork of fabrics and backing it with fleece (and no padding) so little Jaxon can have something great to sit and play on. We will be getting our crafting on this weekend.

If we manage to get our play mat finished then maybe it's time for a bit of arm knitting. We got some great yarn from LoveKnitting - super chunky that we can use 4 strands of at a time and a wonderful pattern from Flax and Twine. Yes, you have to buy this pattern but wow it comes with complete instructions for the arm knitting novice. If we manage to untangle ourselves from the results we will show you the pictures.
